I had an IdeaSpark* that I was going to post on one day, but it turns out it already exists (this can be quite common for me). It is Neighborrow.com, where residents in a neighborhood or building list the items they own (DVD, books, music, games, etc), making it available for someone else to borrow.

Though this site seems to emphasize anonymity between the transactions, I actually thought that hand-to-hand exchanges would help foster a sense of community as you meet like-minded individuals. This would be great on college-campuses. I hope this site takes off.
