47. Bright Idea: Phrase Express November 18, 2006

Posted by Matt Fleming, PsyD in Service, Website.

I had wondered if something like this existed, and I am happy to say that I just came across Phrase Express, a way to easily paste common phrases into any text you are typing.

Read on for more information…

For example, by hitting Ctrl+8 (or typing 888) I have programed this text to occur:

Check out my blog of ideas at http://www.SparkBugg.com.

This was a quick and free download, and so easy that I had the above phrase programmed and working within 5 minutes. Amazing. It instantly worked on my email account, and in this posting.

Now, you can program various signatures, as well as common phrases, such as (1) “If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at…”, (2) “Thanks for your thoughtful email, but I am too busy to really write a similarly thoughtful reply at the moment,” (3) “Wasn’t that blue moon beautiful tonight?” and, finally, that universal cliche (4) “Purple noony mem-foofoos don’t always malign their yum-yums.”

I came across Phrase Express at Lifehacker.com. I think it is for Windows only.
