99. Bright Idea: Reclining Upholstered Headboard December 18, 2006

This Bright Idea is on the right track: easy reclining for your reading or TV watching pleasure. It also has removable and washable slip covers, to allow easy cleaning of your sweat and back-oil stains (maybe that’s just with me). Find it at BLTD.

However, there is a problem with this design: the bed needs to be a foot away from the back wall to allow for reclining. That would look weird.

So I propose a similar, but better, design: the bottom of the headboard gets pulled in (instead of having the top part get pushed back). Slightly more engineering would be required for manufacturing, but at least this bed won’t be sitting there in the middle of your bedroom.
