237. IdeaSpark: On-Hold Party Line March 19, 2007

Posted by Matt Fleming, PsyD in Service.

This IdeaSpark was via Idea-a-Day, by Chas Bayfield (#2405): Customers who have been put on hold when calling a large corporation can chat with one another while they all wait.

If this were optional, I may try this while on hold. Sounds a little fun and exciting. However, I doubt that many companies would provide this service because customers may then just vent to each other about their complaints, the long hold times, and other examples of the company’s poor customer service.

Still, I thought it was a pretty creative idea.
