Like the post below, here is another 26-second video clip of omni-directional technology. The army is exploring the uses of this idea, but I know most of us are waiting for that totally immersive gaming experience (match the treadmill with a wraparound screen and a light gun and you get Halo 4). This would be fantastic for people who want a more quick and intense workout if it were speeded up. There’s nothing better than short, quick movements with directional changes for targeting different muscles.

I’d have fun with this. It’s easy to get bored running straight on a treadmill, but this one forces the users to pay attention.

Of course, there would probably need to be an easy-to-hit off button. Quick changes in direction can also cause more injuries if people aren’t careful. The support belt is good though.
